20 London pubs worth giving your Sunday to. Book ahead, wear something with an elastic waist.
The Sunday roast is a simple proposition that most places get slightly wrong. The potatoes are soft. The gravy is thin. The Yorkshire arrives looking like it has had a long week.
The twenty below get it right. Some keep things classic. Others run the format through a Chinese larder, a Scottish one or a listening bar's hi-fi. All of them are worth crossing the city for, which on a Sunday is saying something.

The 19 Best Roasts in London

A residency in Highbury, two Sunday roasts (one with an end date), a wine bar in a bank vault, a new pizzeria in Bermondsey, khao soi in Soho, a toastie worth crossing the park for, and a bottle for the nights you'd rather stay in.
The clocks go back on 25th October. Dinner starts to feel like the main event again, and the evenings need somewhere to go. These are the tables we'd book this autumn, whether it's a third date or your three-hundredth.

Where to Book for Autumn Dates in London

Our Autumn 2026 trend report is here. We've been watching the things gathering momentum across interiors, homeware and food that haven't made headlines yet, but will.

CEO & Founder of Papier shares his guide to Florence.
"As a student of History of Art, Florence was never really optional. This is the city where the Italian Renaissance more or less begins, and every lecture at Uni referenced it. I've been coming back ever since, usually to look at the same handful of paintings and eat in the same handful of resturants. It's a small city and very walkable, so skip the 2 hour queue for Michelangelo's sculpture of David and spend the time on getting to know the city more intimately."

In 1956, Charles and Ray Eames unveiled a chair designed to feel like "a well-used first baseman's mitt". It took three years, seven prototypes and one abandoned plywood shell to get there. Since then, Herman Miller has produced it with remarkably few changes. Today, it's part of MoMA's permanent collection and has found its way into living rooms around the world. Below, we take a closer look at the story behind the iconic chair, and the thoughtful engineering that made it a design classic.

For this Best of Lighting edit, we’re focusing on pieces that do more than just illuminate, they set the mood. Think soft, warm glows balanced with cleaner, clearer light: lighting that feels comforting.
The best designs strike that sweet spot between atmosphere and function. Together, they create spaces that feel considered, calm, and quietly uplifting. From sculptural pendants to understated table lamps, each piece has been chosen for its ability to elevate a room without overpowering it.

Nice Things This Week

When the sun clocks off at 4pm, your home needs a lighting plan and we’ve got just what you need! Winter is when your home starts telling on itself. That chair you love? Suddenly too dark to read in. Your kitchen? Weirdly clinical. Your living room? Technically fine, but somehow not somewhere you want to be. And then there’s the nightly ritual: you finish the last email, it’s pitch-black outside, and you switch on the ceiling light like you’re interrogating yourself. Welcome to the 4pm problem - when winter exposes lighting that was designed for seeing, not living. The fix isn’t complicated. It’s just… softer, warmer, and a little more layered than you think.

Gifting For Design Lovers

As the evenings grow darker and the clocks get ready to go back, it’s the perfect moment to lean into the warmth of ambient lighting. Soft, layered light can completely transform a space - casting a gentle glow that soothes and softens as daylight fades. Think the golden hue of table lamps, the calm flicker of candlelight, or sculptural pieces that bring both form and function. As we settle into slower evenings, let lighting set the mood - creating pockets of warmth, comfort, and quiet radiance throughout your home.

Ambient Lighting Edit

We take five minutes with author and broadcaster Pandora Sykes to celebrate the ritual of reading. For Pandora, reading is a thread that weaves through everyday life at home, it is her primary hobby and her life long love. Pandora describes the corners of her home where she often reads and tells us all about her comfort shelf: her way of organising books by how she wants to feel when she reads them, a way of taking care.
