The base of this placemat is made from natural iraca palm fibres, stained with natural dyes. These exquisite pieces were skilfully crafted in collaboration with the talented weavers in Sandoná , Nariño, demonstrating the exceptional talent required to transform the iraca palm fibres into stunning woven works of art. The beaded border is is inspired by a necklace bought by our founder on a street market in Colombia, the Chaquira necklaces are handwoven by the Embera Indigenous women from Risaralda.
