An Evening with Can Sumoi & Raventós at Toklas
On Tuesday 20 October, Toklas on Surrey Street hosts An Evening with Can Sumoi & Raventós, a one-night dinner given over to the wines of Penedès in Catalonia. The Raventós family has grown vines there since 1497, and Can Sumoi is its still wine project, reviving old mountain vineyards with regenerative farming, native grapes and horses. Guests get a welcome glass and around seven wines from both estates, with a seasonal, Mediterranean-inspired menu from head chef Chris Shaw. Francesc from the estates and Toklas' Agustina tell the stories behind the bottles.

The Raventós family has grown vines in Penedès since 1497. Can Sumoi is its still wine project, bringing old mountain vineyards back to life with regenerative farming and native grape varieties. The vineyards are still worked by horses, which protects the soil and encourages biodiversity.
Dinner starts with a welcome glass, followed by around seven wines from both estates, still and sparkling. Head chef Chris Shaw and the Toklas kitchen have put together a seasonal, Mediterranean-inspired menu to go with them.
An Evening with Can Sumoi & Raventós is at Toklas, 1 Surrey Street, London WC2R 2ND on Tuesday 20 October at 6.30pm.
