You spend a third of your life in it and most people choose it in about four minutes. Bedding gets bought in a hurry, usually white, usually because the last set finally gave out. Which is odd, given it's the thing in the house you touch most. The eleven brands in this edit are worth slowing down for: organic cotton in 1970s prints, scalloped percale from Paris, Portuguese-woven sheets designed to be mixed rather than matched, wool blankets from a mill in Leith. Some will change the whole room. Some you'll only notice at 11pm, which is arguably the point. Here's who to save.

Our weekly Nice Things Edit is a curated Monday round-up of what we’re loving right now. From our favourite pieces on Glassette to a recipe, a watch, a read, a place to visit, a restaurant, and a gift worth bookmarking.
Each week, every member of the Glassette team shares their current favourites, whether that’s new arrivals, pieces we’ve spotted trending, or timeless finds we can’t stop thinking about. Think of it as a weekly dose of joy, discovery, and design inspiration, handpicked by the Glassette team.

Nice Things This Week

Finding a gift that feels thoughtful, doesn't break the bank and will actually be used is no easy feat. That's where the Glassette Gift List comes in. Each month, we'll be sharing one carefully considered edit, built around the moments that actually matter. No endless scrolling, no panic buying - just the right things, for the right people, at the right time.

Spring always feels like a reading reset, longer days, fresh stacks, and the sense that you might finally tackle the books you’ve been saving. We spent five minutes with Lizzy Hadfield to talk about what’s on her spring reading list right now, from sprawling novels she finally has time to sink into to the shorter reads that deliver that satisfying finish. She shares the books that have shaped her as a reader, the titles sparking debate at her New York book club Buffy’s, and why the best recommendations often come from a mix of instinct, community and the occasional irresistible cover.

Winter changes how we use our homes. Even the best-styled bedroom or sofa starts to feel incomplete without something extra to pull over your knees, your shoulders, or the end of the bed. A good winter blanket isn’t decorative - it’s functional comfort, on standby. This is our considered winter blanket edit: pieces that add warmth without weight, softness without sloppiness, and texture without visual noise. These are blankets that earn their place through long evenings, early nights, and slow weekend mornings.

Granny Core is having a moment - and it ties directly into Pinterest’s 2026 trend, Laced Up. A softer, sweeter, slightly nostalgic turn to interiors. Think ruffled lampshades, scalloped edges, embroidery, floral wallpaper and patchwork blankets that look like they’ve been collected over time.
Pinterest is calling it: comfort is cool again, and the look is all about layering - pattern on pattern, texture on texture. It’s cosy, and quietly confident.

A bathroom reset doesn’t need new tiles - it needs better daily essentials and one clear rule. This guide covers the best towels for a fresher-feeling bathroom, why bar soap beats a cluttered lineup of bottles, and the single surface rule that makes the whole room look instantly calmer. Expect practical styling tips, a short shopping list, and quick habits that keep the reset lasting (even in a busy household). Small changes, big impact - and a bathroom that feels quietly hotel-level.

This week’s moodboard is a combination of some of the most classic Christmas film interiors - from softly lit family rooms to cosy cottages, lived-in London houses filled with unapologetically festive decorations.

Christmas Film Interiors

This week’s moodboard takes its cue from the McCallister family home in Home Alone - a place where Christmas is turned all the way up, from the moment Kevin is left in charge. Think glowing lights, generous colour, busy rooms and that unmistakable feeling of a house ready for chaos, comfort and celebration in equal measure. We’ve chosen rich tones, cosy textures and festive details that capture the warmth and nostalgia of the film, reimagined for a home that feels welcoming, layered and lived in.

This month’s Colour Pairing brings together Olive & Chocolate – a grounded earthy green with earthy depth, and a rich, chocolate brown. Olive speaks of nature’s resilience, organic and enduring, while Chocolate brings warmth, indulgence and quiet sophistication. Together, they create a harmony that feels both rooted and refined. Think natural textures, soft leathers, and deep woven fabrics that invite touch and comfort. Whether in interiors, fashion, or everyday accents, this pairing offers balance – earthy calm with a decadent edge, grounding yet deeply inviting.

Polka dots, playful yet timeless, embody balance, joy, and charm. Their rhythmic repetition creates harmony, bringing order infused with whimsy that softens minimal spaces or energises bold ones. This cheerful motif finds expression in ceramics, wallpaper, upholstery, glassware, and even architectural details, offering continuity across design disciplines. In interiors, dots lend warmth, movement, and an element of surprise, breaking monotony with gentle visual rhythm. Whether crisp and graphic in high contrast or subtle and textured in muted tones, polka dots remain endlessly versatile, delivering lighthearted elegance with enduring universal appeal.

For Sharland England founder & broadcaster Louise Roe, home is loud and lively. If you come round, you can expect campari on the cocktail cart and the squishiest pillows on your bed. Read our interview with Louise where she talks about her obsession with Spanish ceramics, rattan furniture and just the right serving of chintz.

30 Things To Do At Home This Summer

We’re fascinated by the curious ritual of reading, and how allowing our inner world to collide with the imagination, wisdom and learnings of others can bring both necessary guidance and absorbing distraction during every phase of life. We checked in with award-winning podcaster, actor, improviser and newly published author, Cariad Lloyd, to learn more about her relationship with reading, the inspiration behind her new book, You Are Not Alone, and the Glassette items she adores most as part of her perfect reading nook.

Reading Rituals with Cariad Lloyd

We’re fascinated by the curious ritual of reading and how creating a space to read often can be an anchor in our days, weeks and months and how it can inspire the mundane with something magical. We take five minutes with author and journalist Yomi Adegoke to debate dog ears over bookmarks and discover how she prioritises reading as a way of learning and making sense of the world.

A residency in Highbury, two Sunday roasts (one with an end date), a wine bar in a bank vault, a new pizzeria in Bermondsey, khao soi in Soho, a toastie worth crossing the park for, and a bottle for the nights you'd rather stay in.
The clocks go back on 25th October. Dinner starts to feel like the main event again, and the evenings need somewhere to go. These are the tables we'd book this autumn, whether it's a third date or your three-hundredth.
