Nice Things This Week

This month, Art Kiosk becomes something closer to a monthly long-form editorial. Original art and prints from artists we rate - we've worked out the frames, decided where each one earns its wall, and picked out what's trending in the art world right now.
There's a mini interview with one artist each month too. This time it's Molly Kayll, on painting to a 90s romcom and the one piece she'll never sell.
Original art, considered properly.

Art Kiosk July

Art has a way of choosing its location well. The places on this list aren't cities that happen to have galleries - they're towns, islands, and desert outposts where the art and the landscape have become inseparable. A whitewashed fishing village that drew Dalí. A Japanese island that became a permanent installation. A valley in the Sonoran that made space for something stranger. Whether you're planning around them or letting them redirect a trip entirely, these are ten places worth knowing about.

10 Art Destinations To Save

Some houses take years to get right. Where We'd Stay is a new series from Glassette where we ask the people behind exceptional places to stay - hotels, villas, houses, the occasional very good Airbnb - to walk us through what they made and why.
We're starting in Suffolk, at Melton Hall: a Grade II listed Georgian house on the edge of Woodbridge, sleeping up to 17, with a pool that (according to everyone involved) stops people in their tracks. It was three years in the making - a collaboration between Cassandra Stavrou, founder of Proper Snacks, and her longtime friend and interior designer Rebecca Sicardi, who spent those years sourcing art and furniture from independent dealers, avoiding big brands entirely, and commissioning two oak tables from a single fallen tree on the grounds.
Each instalment covers one property, question by question - the design decisions, the nearby spots worth knowing about, and the one thing guests always comment on. Places we'd genuinely stay. Starting here.

Where We'd Stay

There's a particular kind of hotel that doesn't just give you somewhere to sleep, it gives you a colour palette you'll spend the rest of the trip trying to describe to people at home. The kind where the decision to paint every wall a specific shade of green, or to tile an entire courtyard in hand-painted blue and white, wasn't a branding exercise but something closer to a personal conviction. From a clifftop fortress in Calpe that Ricardo Bofill designed in shades of deep red and purple, to a Rajasthani haveli where every room is a different jewel tone, to a quietly extraordinary guesthouse on a car-free island off the coast of Senegal - this guide is for those who book by atmosphere as much as location. Eleven hotels where colour isn't decoration. It's the whole point.

Hotels if you love colour

There's a reason we spend so much time rearranging, repainting and quietly obsessing over the right shade of green for a single wall. Home is personal - more personal, probably, than most of us admit. This month, we've been thinking about that: about the objects that make a space feel inhabited rather than staged, and about the particular satisfaction of a room that couldn't belong to anyone else.
Our pride homeware edit is built around that idea. Pieces with colour and character, chosen for the people who know exactly what they want and aren't especially interested in playing it safe. Mustard Made, who are donating 10% of sales to LGBTQ+ rights organisation Outright International throughout June, sit at the heart of it, alongside a handful of other finds that feel considered, a bit daring, and genuinely built to last.
No novelty product here. Just good things, for homes with a point of view.

Pride Homeware Edit

Fruit is having a design moment, and at Salone, it's been impossible to ignore. From Laila Gohar’s surreal fruit carousel to Chloé’s tomato-shaped seating, it showed up oversized, playful, and unexpectedly refined. Less decoration, more statement: a shift towards interiors that feel abundant, expressive, and slightly theatrical.
This edit leans into that energy, pulling together pieces that echo fruit through colour, form, and texture. A little surreal, a little joyful, and very much of the moment.

Fruity Design

Gallery walls have moved on from rigid grids and perfectly matched frames. The most interesting ones mix artwork, objects and unexpected pieces to create something layered and expressive. We’ve pulled together five creative ideas for building a gallery wall that feels considered and full of character.

Start a Gallery Wall

Spend five minutes with the teams behind Albers and Firangi, as Firangi takes over Albers’ De Beauvoir bistro for a two-week residency that feels less like a collision and more like a natural evolution.
Rooted in the rhythm of neighbourhood dining but alive with South Asian flavour architecture, the collaboration threads instinctive, produce-led British cooking through Firangi’s playful, expressive lens.
From masala scotch eggs to pork chop with kalu curry congee, the menu moves between memory and experimentation, generous plates designed to be passed around, lingered over, and talked about. We caught up with both sides to discuss shared philosophies of hospitality, the quiet art of balance, and why the best collaborations don’t dilute identity, they deepen it.

London’s Coolest Two-Week Takeover

What’s your art taste? Not the one you say in galleries. The real one.
Maybe you’re quietly accumulating meaning. Maybe you want to touch every surface. Maybe film, food, fashion and art all blur into one big reference board in your head.
Are you driven by nostalgia, or by the thrill of something that makes people pause?
Do you place pieces instinctively, or does every work have to earn its wall?
Some people collect art. Some people build a point of view.
Which one are you?
Take the quiz!

In 2026, let your interiors moodboard begin on screen. These five films are immersive worlds where colour, composition and object placement feel quietly intentional. Watch for painted walls that set the emotional temperature, fabrics that catch the light, and rooms styled with a restrained confidence: a few standout pieces, thoughtfully spaced, doing more than a crowded shelf ever could. There are motifs worth borrowing too - florals that feel modern, metals that read softly rather than shiny, and palettes that balance sweetness with edge. Consider each film a design reference point: part escapism, part study in how atmosphere is built.
