Founded by mothers Helen and Fiona, Avery Row set out to create a baby and toddler brand they wished had existed when their own children were small. Now led by Helen, the brand draws inspiration from the natural world, building each collection around a theme often rooted in cherished childhood memories. With products ranging from baby blankets, to bibs, to handy baby changing bags and pram liners for when out and about, Avery Row also utilises sustainably sourced materials throughout their ranges.

Some people wait until December to put up the Christmas decorations. Others have been planning the tree since August. Wherever you fall, a few new additions can make Christmas feel that bit more special. Striped stockings, baubles with a bit of personality and decorations that are too good to save for just one month of the year.

Christmas Moments: Decorations

You spend a third of your life in it and most people choose it in about four minutes. Bedding gets bought in a hurry, usually white, usually because the last set finally gave out. Which is odd, given it's the thing in the house you touch most. The eleven brands in this edit are worth slowing down for: organic cotton in 1970s prints, scalloped percale from Paris, Portuguese-woven sheets designed to be mixed rather than matched, wool blankets from a mill in Leith. Some will change the whole room. Some you'll only notice at 11pm, which is arguably the point. Here's who to save.

Finding a gift that feels thoughtful, doesn't break the bank and will actually be used is no easy feat. That's where the Glassette Gift List comes in. Each month, we'll be sharing one carefully considered edit, built around the moments that actually matter. No endless scrolling, no panic buying - just the right things, for the right people, at the right time.

“I've made so many friends all over the world and have had so many discussions with followers about books they've read and loved,” says Rachel Soo Thow, the visionary behind the online literary Instagram account, The Lit List, of the virtual community she’s cultivated. “On the other hand, I've also had conversations with readers about books they didn't love and why; and that's what I love about this community – discussion invites intrigue, and if I can create that, then my job is done.” The 187k people who follow Rachel (and counting) would undoubtedly agree.
What started as a page to document the books she loved, those she didn’t love quite so much, and why, has grown into a powerhouse. On the feed, you’ll find the New Zealand-based creative’s current reading list, accompanied by short blurbs about each novel, essays she’s reading to combat internet brain rot, her personal Substack essays, and much more.
Alongside this, Rachel has launched a subsidiary account, Litsy, where non-viral book recommendations – both old and new – can thrive. Her approach to reading is entirely mood-based, and she’ll often pick up a book and, “if it doesn't grab me, then I put it aside and move on to the next one”. Solid advice, to be honest.
Rachel is a woman who knows what she wants to read – so we caught up with her to find out which books will be occupying her summer, the head-scratchers that left her rethinking, well, everything, the essays she keeps returning to, and, most importantly, whether she’s a bookmark user or a page-folder.

A soft midweek reset isn’t about deep-cleaning - it’s about easing the week back into something manageable. In this guide, we share low-effort midweek reset ideas that take 10–20 minutes and make your home feel calmer fast: clearing one surface, containing clutter (not organising it), resetting the sink, and adding one sensory cue with lighting or scent. Includes a simple 12-minute routine, the objects that make resets effortless, quick picks for when energy is low, and a practical FAQ.

Midweek Reset, Soft Edition

A calm bedroom doesn’t require a full clean - just a smarter system. This guide breaks down the 15-minute bedroom reset that actually works, with time-coded steps you can repeat daily: make the bed properly, clear visual clutter fast, reset the nightstand and surfaces, and finish with one sensory cue. You’ll also find the most common mistakes, a simple shopping list, and quick picks for when you only have five minutes. Designed for real life - not perfect homes.

This month’s colour pairing brings together cranberry and eggnog - a rich maroon red paired with a soft egg white. Cranberry brings depth and festive warmth, while eggnog balances it with a creamy, calming softness. It’s a combination we’re seeing everywhere right now, from food styling to interiors.

A quiet hour, a cup of tea, and a few simple materials - ribbon, paper, tin - can change how a space feels. Embossed tin shapes catch the light; paper stars, strung into loose garlands, brighten a room without much effort. Small, handmade details like these make a home feel festive in a way that’s personal and relaxed. These are some of the ideas we’ve seen trending this season.

Creative Ideas For Decorations

Dress your Christmas tree with decorations that bring warmth, character, and a touch of festive magic to your home. Combine hand-crafted ornaments, textured ribbons, and sparkling accents to create a tree that feels personal and beautifully layered. Mix materials - glass, wood, metal, and fabric, for richness and depth, and balance statement pieces with delicate details for visual harmony. Whether you lean toward a classic palette or a 70s colourful Christmas tree, thoughtful styling transforms your tree into a festive room centrepiece. Let each decoration tell a story and make your tree feel truly special year after year.

Napkins don’t need to remain as plain, folded squares placed beside a plate. With a little creativity, they can be twisted, tied, or sculpted into shapes that feel just as delightful as the meal itself. From simple knots and casual rolls to more intricate origami-inspired folds, napkins can instantly elevate the dining experience. They add a touch of artistry, charm, and personality to the table, making even everyday meals feel special. Here are a few ideas to style your napkins and bring extra joy to your table setting.
