Eleanor's October Product Round-Up

By Eleanor Rice
30.10.2026

Eleanor is Glassette's Buying and Brand Acquisition Manager - the person who sources new homeware and lifestyle brands for the platform, shapes the ranges, and spots what's worth paying attention to before most people have clocked it. Every month, she shares the products she can't stop thinking about, the trends quietly moving into interiors, and honest recommendations she'd genuinely spend her own money on.

This month: the early surrender to throws and hot water bottles, the tote habit that’s quietly filling the site with shoppers, the artist-made cushions our makers have turned into a trend, the Conran Shop coat hooks that look like a climbing wall, and the travel backgammon sets coming with her to the pub on Fridays.

October
I’m Eleanor! East Midlands born, London shaped. I moved here at 21 to study fashion and, nearly a decade into my career, I’m still finding new ways to see myself. I’m the Buying and Brand Acquisition Manager at Glassette, where I look after all of our brands - sourcing new ones for the platform, curating the ranges we bring onto the site, and help identify future marketing opportunities for them. As I approach 30, I’ve become more aware of how differently people shape their lives through their surroundings and what they consume. Glassette is a constant source of inspiration for me in that sense - so much of my everyday ends up reflecting the brands and products and content we bring onto the site, and it continually shapes what I’m drawn to and want to explore further. From the latest snack I keep in my bag to how I reposition the lamps in my room, the artwork I choose to live with, and the skincare I rely on day to day - these small, considered choices quietly mirror the kinds of products and routines we champion, each one reflecting a different way of living.
What’s been on my mind this month?
It happens every year, and somehow I’m still not used to how suddenly cold it gets. I’m fairly sure I was frolicking around London in shorts about five minutes ago, and now heavier duvets, extra throws and hot water bottles are quite literally upon us. I usually resent that brief jumpers-only window before it’s straight into several layers, but this year I’ve surrendered early and have very much been leaning into the extra layers for weeks. The one thing I’m trying to avoid is my very ugly electric blanket (any brands out there making nice ones, PLEASE get in touch - it’d be Glassette’s next hot-hit category, in every sense). Until then, here’s what I’m reaching for to make things extra cosy:
What’s happening in product at Glassette?
I think everyone has that one thing they’re constantly drawn to when buying and can never have quite enough of… for some it’s mugs or coasters in the home, for others it’s perfumes or another pair of pyjamas… mine is bags. I can never have enough everyday totes or shoppers, so you might have noticed even more of them cropping up on the site - I’m adding them on while sneakily building a mental wishlist as I go. Daisy Snow’s market totes are amazing value with designs to match, and new brand Holding Patterns has won me over too - their Ink Flowers Market Tote is a firm favourite. I also love merch on a tote, and if your logo is based solely on fruit or veg and looks like it’s come straight off Ready Steady Cook, then naturally I’m buying it - The Pickle House’s tote is the one I’d grab for my weekly food shop. Then there’s the Colours of Arley tote… no, I don’t need another work bag, but as previously established, need has never really come into it - and in my defence, it’s big enough to hold all my other bags, which makes it practically a practical purchase. It’s also bound to gain a million compliments.
A product insight I didn’t expect
Art on cushions. At the risk of sounding biased and gushy, we have the most talented creators on the site, and they have a habit of quietly starting trends between them before I’ve even noticed - lately, it’s artwork and embroidery finding its way onto cushions. Unsurprisingly, Casa Serra’s ‘Three Pigeons Cushion’ has sold out (I’m linking it anyway, because it’s worth seeing what could have been the best pigeon boy band album cover of all time), so I’m linking another of his too - his talent goes well beyond the pigeon trio, and once you’ve seen cowboys hanging out in a tree, you’ll understand why I want every cushion he’s ever made. Saima Kaur has a real gift for putting together the boldest potential colour clashes and nailing it every time, and she’s now taken her signature embroidery artwork onto cushions. Then there’s Amuse La Bouche’s sardine cushion cover, in the perfect shade of blue with contrasting shapes and motifs woven throughout. And lastly, this Ferm Living cushion makes such a sweet gift for anyone with a little one.
The one thing everyone asked me about
Storage for all the coats that are now back in regular rotation… (a small lie - I’ve just bought more and need somewhere to put them). I spotted these colourful coat hooks at The Conran Shop’s showroom, and they’re such a fun, arty addition to any wall - they remind me of the climbing walls I used to scramble up as a kid. Not quite the same purpose or function, admittedly (I’d advise against climbing them), but they certainly give you something fun to look at when you walk through the door.
Things I'm loving this month
I’ve just learnt how to play backgammon. I just about know the rules and am still a long way off any tactics or tricks, but once I’ve got it nailed I’d love a board of my own. We’ve two on the site that roll up or fold, and since I’ve been taking my practice to the pub on Fridays, they’re perfect for popping in your tote (see above - I have plenty) and playing over a couple of pints. A couple of other bits that have inspired me this month: an amazing patchwork-esque rug I spotted on one of our shoots, which reminded me of a couple of vintage Moroccan rugs Daisy Snow have just added to the site - and both are currently on sale! I also spotted a plate at the restaurant at Updown House that felt very Service Projects. I love the brand’s pared-back, no-frills, restaurant-style approach to crockery. Sometimes it’s nice to have a simpler take on tableware and glassware so the focus stays on the food and drink in front of you, and that’s exactly the feeling Service Projects does best.
