Born in the heart of Nottinghamshire, Tinker & Tallulah blends creativity and craftsmanship to make lighting that feels as unique as the spaces it illuminates. Inspired by vintage glamour and the glitz of the Art Deco era, their lampshades are handmade with care and a sense of fun. Think swishy fringes, bold fabrics, and refined design - perfect for homes and hospitality spaces that demand something extraordinary.

Our weekly Nice Things Edit is a curated Monday round-up of what we’re loving right now. From our favourite pieces on Glassette to a recipe, a watch, a read, a place to visit, a restaurant, and a gift worth bookmarking.
Each week, every member of the Glassette team shares their current favourites, whether that’s new arrivals, pieces we’ve spotted trending, or timeless finds we can’t stop thinking about. Think of it as a weekly dose of joy, discovery, and design inspiration, handpicked by the Glassette team.

Nice Things This Week

There is a certain kind of house where nothing is ever really put away. Things gather, plants creep in, flowers dry out, furniture gets moved around, and somehow it all becomes part of the place. That’s what the Owens house in Practical Magic feels like.
Inside, the aesthetic is one of beautiful chaos: mismatched china, copper pans, jars of herbs, pressed flowers and old books stacked everywhere. Nothing is too neat. The kitchen opens onto a glass conservatory, while the rooms are full of details that feel accumulated over time. The house doesn’t look haunted so much as inhabited. Even the more fantastical details feel completely at home there.

Film Moodboard: Practical Magic

The first week of September. Back to school, and a lot on the horizon - Open House, Soho Jazz Festival, the city waking up again. These are the eight things that have inspired me this week.

8 Things That Inspired Me This Week

When you work for Glassette, inspiration has a habit of following you everywhere. For me, travelling is no easy switch-off. My editorial eye is wide open. A five-minute stroll can quickly become an hour when there’s a doorway worth photographing, a particularly good tiled floor or a beautifully set-up bistro table you aren’t even dining at. Every detail feels worth documenting, and every snap brings my iPhone one step closer to begging for more storage.
On the flight home, headphones on, I find myself scrolling through everything I’ve captured, wondering what made me stop in the first place. Why that particular window? What was it about that dish, that shopfront, that slightly faded sign?
After a recent weekend in Marseille, I realised this is how I remember a place: by taking its details and turning them into a visual moodboard. A colour combination I’d never thought to put together, a soap I suddenly need in my bathroom, a table setting worth recreating at home. A collection of little visual souvenirs that follow me home and find their way into everyday life.
So, here is my Marseille moodboard.

Travelling With an Eye For Detail: Marseille

Mint has a habit of looking unfinished; silver is what finishes it. On its own, mint can feel undecided, hovering somewhere between pastel and green. Silver gives it something to play against.
One comes from the garden, the other from the workshop, but side by side they lose that distance fast. Mint softens the shine, silver sharpens the green, and suddenly both colours make more sense together than they ever did apart.

Mint & Silver

A good lamp does more work than people give it credit for. It sets the mood of a room before anything else in it does, softens a corner that would otherwise go unused, gives a house somewhere to look warm at 6pm in January. The nine brands in this edit all understand that a light fitting is sculpture with a job to do. Some lean into colour and whimsy, others into restraint and material. Here's who to know.

9 Lighting Brands to Follow

Good renovation advice is almost always retrospective. You have to make the mistakes first. Room by Room is a new series from Glassette where we ask designers and homeowners to walk us through a single space: what wasn't working, what they spent too much on (and whether it was worth it), and what they'd tell you before you pick up a sledgehammer.
In the heart of London sits a slice of Iran in restaurant form. Persian decor adorns the interior of Berenjak Mayfair, which opened its doors earlier this year. It's described as "busy, buzzy and intimate" by Jake Raslan and Lorenzo Buscaroli, the minds behind the interiors – and we're inclined to agree.
With an expansive budget, the pair were able to bring to life stunning details, from a hand-painted ceiling by a specialist decorative artist, inspired by historic Persian miniatures, to bespoke marble mosaic floors in the toilets and elegantly draped curtains. The devil is truly in the detail when it comes to the Mayfair dining spot.
An endeavour that took more than a year to complete, a great deal of time, sweat, bespoke tiles and love were clearly poured into the space. On the food front, guests are treated to an immersive experience, with a kitchen that spills into the dining space, allowing them to watch stone-baked bread and smoked meats being prepared in real time.
We caught up with the brains behind the project to uncover the most expensive details, why handmade craftsmanship really is worth the investment, and whether they have any regrets.

Chelsea Flower Show is here. To celebrate, we've put together an edit that asks: what if flowers were interiors? The answer, it turns out, is rather beautiful.

Flowers as Interiors

This week, we turn to Marie Antoinette and its cinematic splendour for interiors inspiration.
A heroine of excess and escapism, her world is as expressive as her wardrobe - indulgent, playful, and impossibly ornate. Think lacquered pastels, sugared almond hues, and gilded detailing, where every surface feels dressed for the occasion.
Bedrooms become confectionery dreams of silk drapery and powder-soft florals, while tablescapes are layered with porcelain, ribbons, and fruit. There’s a sense of theatricality in every corner.
Bring a touch of Versailles fantasy home with pieces that feel decadent, decorative, and just a little bit undone.

In 2026, let your interiors moodboard begin on screen. These five films are immersive worlds where colour, composition and object placement feel quietly intentional. Watch for painted walls that set the emotional temperature, fabrics that catch the light, and rooms styled with a restrained confidence: a few standout pieces, thoughtfully spaced, doing more than a crowded shelf ever could. There are motifs worth borrowing too - florals that feel modern, metals that read softly rather than shiny, and palettes that balance sweetness with edge. Consider each film a design reference point: part escapism, part study in how atmosphere is built.

The secret isn’t more lighting, it’s softer lighting, placed with intention, and switched on before the evening goes grey. Boutique hotels have a particular kind of magic. You walk in and everything feels calm. The sofa looks inviting. The corners are warm. Nobody is being blasted by a ceiling light. Even the air seems better lit. And then you get home and your living room is… fine. Technically. But it doesn’t have that low, flattering glow that makes you want to order olives and speak quietly. It’s either dim and a bit sad, or bright in a way that makes you feel like you should be cleaning. The good news is you don’t need to redesign your living room to get that boutique hotel feeling. You just need to borrow their lighting rules - the ones they’ve been quietly perfecting for years.

This month’s Colour Pairing brings together Olive & Chocolate – a grounded earthy green with earthy depth, and a rich, chocolate brown. Olive speaks of nature’s resilience, organic and enduring, while Chocolate brings warmth, indulgence and quiet sophistication. Together, they create a harmony that feels both rooted and refined. Think natural textures, soft leathers, and deep woven fabrics that invite touch and comfort. Whether in interiors, fashion, or everyday accents, this pairing offers balance – earthy calm with a decadent edge, grounding yet deeply inviting.

Pistachio green is the interior design trend that whispers luxury while feeling effortlessly fresh. Softer than emerald, more intriguing than sage, this versatile shade slips easily into home décor without demanding attention - yet always draws the eye. Pair this soothing colour palette with warm neutrals for calm, or with chrome and glass for a sharper mood. Whether as a statement vase, lamp, or linen accent, pistachio interiors bring quiet vitality to any room.

For vintage seller and content creator Sophia Barrese, home is a homage to mid-century shades and shapes. Her new home is a renovation, a work in progress, a place that’s slowly taking shape, with sunny corners and warm, mellow tones leading the way.
