Rhea Kalo is an Athens-based studio creating homeware with a soft spot for the imperfect. Founded in 2020, the brand started with hand-painted ceramic vases, and has since grown into a full collection spanning ceramics, textiles, candles, lighting, and furniture. Working with bold colours, asymmetric shapes, and vibrant patterns, each piece is handmade and hand-painted in Athens by local artisans.

SUNKISSED VASE

Seven places where the phone goes quiet, the kettle is always on and nobody asks you to optimise anything. For World Mental Health Day, 10 October.
Most of us are good at going away. Fewer of us are good at arriving. The laptop comes too. The group chat follows. By day three you have checked your inbox from a sun lounger and called it a holiday.
Switching off is a skill, and like most skills it is easier with the right conditions. A weak signal helps. So does a view long enough to lose an afternoon in, a bath that takes twenty minutes to fill, and staff who understand that doing nothing is the point.
None of the places below will fix anything on their own. That is not their job. What they do is remove the friction between you and rest. The rest is up to you.

The Best Places to Stay to Properly Switch Off

Our weekly Nice Things Edit is a curated Monday round-up of what we’re loving right now. From our favourite pieces on Glassette to a recipe, a watch, a read, a place to visit, a restaurant, and a gift worth bookmarking.
Each week, every member of the Glassette team shares their current favourites, whether that’s new arrivals, pieces we’ve spotted trending, or timeless finds we can’t stop thinking about. Think of it as a weekly dose of joy, discovery, and design inspiration, handpicked by the Glassette team.

Nice Things This Week

The ones worth saving for the last week of August, when the light goes long and everything starts packing itself away.
There is a specific kind of film about the end of summer, and it is not really about summer at all. It is about the afternoon the shutters get closed, the argument that surfaces on the last night, the person who was there in July and is not there in September. These nine understand it.

9 Films for the End of Summer

Tonight, 12 August, a total solar eclipse crosses Greenland, Iceland and northern Spain. Britain isn't in the path of totality, and never gets the full blackout drama this time round. What we get instead is a partial eclipse, low in the west, right around sunset. That sounds like a consolation prize. It isn't. A sun sliced into a crescent and sinking into the sea is its own kind of spectacle, and the further west and south you are, the more dramatic it looks. Bring eclipse glasses (sunglasses will not do), a clear western horizon, and low expectations of the British weather. Timings shift by several minutes across the country, and the sun sets earlier the further east you are - check local start times and sunset for your exact spot before you head out.

Hannah Drye never set out to make "London-style" pizza - that's a label other people attached to it. What she set out to make was thin, crispy pizza she actually wanted to eat, first from the back of a car at weekend markets, then through pub residencies, and now as XL slices and whole 20-inch pies at All My Friends in Hackney Wick.
Here, the Dough Hands founder talks 72-hour proves, why truffle oil never stood a chance, the fish finger sandwich she'd genuinely put on a pizza, and the scotch bonnet hot honey you can make at home with a day's patience.

A bouquet doesn't have to mean a dozen roses. At Glassette, we believe the best arrangements say something about the person carrying them - or wearing them. From blooms that never wilt to broccoli dressed in pearls, the bouquet is having a playful moment. Whether you're gathering flowers for a friend, a table, or an aisle, here are six creative ideas for bouquets.

Summer 2026 is set to be a rollicking one for music, and album covers have been nothing to turn our noses up at either. From Charli xcx to Kelela and Madonna, we’re assured months of sound that is sonically riotous. But what would décor look like if left to the devices of the albums set to soundtrack the scorching weather? From vivid pastels to minimalist backdrops and landscapes with gritty edges, here’s décor fueled by this summer’s most anticipated releases – and the albums already setting the tone for the months ahead.

From Neapolitan-style pies in Mayfair to wood-fired slices in Newquay, England's pizza scene has quietly become something worth travelling for. Whether you're after Bar Etna - the Newington Green collaboration between Four Legs' Ed McIlroy and Philadelphia pizza legend Joe Beddia, whose original spot was once named Best Pizza in America by Bon Appétit - the sourdough seriousness of Dough Hands, the natural-wine-bar energy of Rosa in Newquay, or the gloriously no-nonsense spirit of Bad Boy Pizza Society, there's a slice and a setting for every mood. We've rounded up the best spots from London to Manchester to Sheffield, because great pizza deserves a proper pilgrimage.

Flowers don't need to be arranged so much as considered. The vase, the stem count, where you put them in a room - small decisions that add up to something that feels intentional rather than just bought. We've pulled together five creative ideas for styling cut flowers at home.

Creative Ideas For Flower Arranging

There are two types of bedside lighting. The first is a single bright lamp that makes you feel like you’re about to complete a tax return. The second is the kind you find in hotels: soft, low, flattering the lighting equivalent of a good robe. The difference isn’t just aesthetics. Bedside lighting is the thing that decides whether your evenings feel like a gentle landing or a hard stop. It’s what makes reading possible, makes your bedroom feel warm instead of functional, and (quietly) tells your brain it can start powering down. A good bedside set-up doesn’t need a full bedroom overhaul. It just needs the right light, at the right height, with a little bit of softness built in.

Stripes in the home are timeless - never trend-driven, always versatile. Whether bold and graphic or soft and subtle, they bring balance, and personality into any space. From crisp monochrome lines that add structure to colourful clashes that spark joy, stripes work beautifully across cushions, rugs, bedding, and tabletop accents. A classic Breton stripe can feel calm, while playful diagonal or oversized stripes create striking focal points. We’ve curated our favourite stripe-inspired homeware pieces to show how this enduring pattern can refresh every corner, adding character and joy to your interiors.

The shape of a vessel can transform the simplest ritual - the curve of a handle, the weight of a base, the way light moves through glass. This edit brings together mugs, tumblers and cups that are as practical as they are pleasing. Each one has been chosen for its balance of function and beauty - objects that make drinking a more thoughtful act!
