When we started designing our collection with Next, the brief to ourselves was simple: make the things we’d actually want in our own homes, and price them so you don’t have to think too hard about it. The kind of pieces that make a room feel considered without making it feel precious.
This is my edit of the ones I keep coming back to. Everything here is under £100. Some of it is already in my house. The rest is on its way!

Laura's Glassette Favourites Under £100

Cabin fever used to mean going slightly mad indoors. Now it describes a very specific longing: warm timber walls, wool underfoot, a lamp in every corner and nowhere to be. It comes round every winter. This year it has settled on a material, and the material is Douglas fir.
You’ll know it when you see it. Straight, tight grain. A pinkish-orange tone when new that mellows to honey and then amber with age. It’s the wood of Alpine chalets, Pacific Northwest A-frames and Danish floorboards people photograph before they’ve finished unpacking. After a decade of pale oak, it feels almost decadent.
It’s going on walls, ceilings, kitchen fronts and floors, usually all at once. Used sparingly, it can look like an afterthought. Used generously, it looks like you’ve moved somewhere with better air.

Copenhagen runs on bikes, butter and natural wine, and it’s small enough to manage all three before lunch. Swim in the harbour, queue for a cardamom bun, spend Saturday morning at the Frederiksberg flea market, then eat dinner in the old meatpacking district. These are the places we’d make time for.

Our weekly Nice Things Edit is a curated Monday round-up of what we’re loving right now. From our favourite pieces on Glassette to a recipe, a watch, a read, a place to visit, a restaurant, and a gift worth bookmarking.
Each week, every member of the Glassette team shares their current favourites, whether that’s new arrivals, pieces we’ve spotted trending, or timeless finds we can’t stop thinking about. Think of it as a weekly dose of joy, discovery, and design inspiration, handpicked by the Glassette team.

Nice Things This Week

You spend a third of your life in it and most people choose it in about four minutes. Bedding gets bought in a hurry, usually white, usually because the last set finally gave out. Which is odd, given it's the thing in the house you touch most. The eleven brands in this edit are worth slowing down for: organic cotton in 1970s prints, scalloped percale from Paris, Portuguese-woven sheets designed to be mixed rather than matched, wool blankets from a mill in Leith. Some will change the whole room. Some you'll only notice at 11pm, which is arguably the point. Here's who to save.

11 Bedding Brands to Follow

A desk is the only surface in the house that nobody furnishes on purpose. Everything on it arrived for a reason and none of the reasons were aesthetic: the pen came free, the mug is from a conference, the paper is held down by whatever was nearest. Which is a shame, because it's where a lot of us now spend the hours we used to spend elsewhere. The ten brands here make the things that end up within arm's reach for years: mouth-blown glass paperweights, hand-built trays for the stuff that has nowhere else to go, a diary invented in 1908 to fit inside a breast pocket. None of it will make you work faster. That isn't the job.

10 Deskware Brands to Know

Some roads are infrastructure. Some are the reason you went. The 8 below are the second kind - routes where the driving is the point, and arriving somewhere is largely incidental. A few are famous. One or two require a ferry, a permit, or a tolerance for gravel. All of them reward going slowly.

The Best Road Trips in the World

A stationery shop is a good test of a city. These are small businesses with thin margins, kept alive by repeat custom and a particular sort of obsessiveness. The ones that last are usually run by someone who has strong feelings about laid paper and no interest at all in footfall. Here are 8 of the most beautiful.

September doesn't ask permission. The light goes early, the diary fills up, and everyone starts talking about soup. Some of us find this cheering. Others are still quietly mourning August. Either way the response tends to be the same, which is a bit of shuffling about at home: a candle lit for the first time since May, new bedding, the blanket that lives on the sofa for the next six months.
So we asked the team what they're bringing in this season. Below, the small and specific things making the handover from summer to autumn feel less like an ending.

How the Glassette team refreshes for Autumn

September arrives and something in us wants a clean page. Not a resolution, exactly - more the low-grade satisfaction of a fresh notebook and a pen that works. The desk gets cleared. The old diary, three months untouched, goes in the drawer. Our collection with Papier is built for this particular itch: notebooks and notecards that look good enough to leave out on the table and are sturdy enough to actually get used. Start with the notebook. The rest tends to follow.

The halls room is a known quantity. Magnolia walls, a single bed, a desk pushed under the window, a radiator with a mind of its own and a ban on anything adhesive. You get it for nine months and you cannot change a thing about it structurally.
What you can change is what you put in it. The list below is not about making a student room look like a shoot. It is about the small number of objects that make a rented box feel like yours by the second week, and that survive the move out, the house share in second year and the flat after that.

18 Things Worth Buying For A New Room At Uni

A lot of what inspired me this week happened around Borough.
A Turkish-Cypriot meyhane on the top floor of a pub, papered wall to wall in someone else's family photographs. A cocktail bar five minutes downhill from it, building drinks out of the market below. A Parisian burger shop in Shoreditch with four things on the menu and a queue that doesn't seem to mind.
But the one I keep thinking about is the Barbican, where every August they put a screen up on the Sculpture Court and let a few hundred people watch films on a concrete terrace in the middle of the City.
So that's the week - two restaurants, a bar, a film season, a museum and three people whose work I've been sitting with. Here's the eight.

8 Things That Inspired Me This Week

Everyone has the drawer. Ticket stubs, a matchbook from a restaurant in Lisbon, a postcard bought and never sent, three foreign coins that aren't worth changing back. It gets opened twice a year and shut again immediately.
The drawer isn't the problem. The drawer is just badly organised affection.
A memory tray is the fix. One shallow tray, kept somewhere you actually walk past, holding the paper evidence of a good year. Not a scrapbook - nothing needs sticking down, nothing needs a caption. Just the things you couldn't throw away, given a surface instead of a drawer.

Our Co-Founder and Creative Director Laura Jackson rediscovers forgotten Mallorcan treasures.
"Four summer days in Mallorca. We found ourselves there to celebrate a family wedding and in the days following, we set out to find some glittering coves and secret swimming spots, local lunch spots and beautiful ceramics to take home. The south east corner is a part of Mallorca I haven't visited since I was young and I felt all the excitement of rediscovering forgotten treasures and well kept secrets." Laura

Eleanor is Glassette's Buying and Brand Acquisition Manager - the person who sources new homeware and lifestyle brands for the platform, shapes the ranges, and spots what's worth paying attention to before most people have clocked it. Every month, she shares the products she can't stop thinking about, the trends quietly moving into interiors, and honest recommendations she'd genuinely spend her own money on.
This month: the back-to-school dread that ends, as ever, in a new notebook and a house full of primary colours, the frames built around a polaroid strip rather than in spite of it, the tea towels she's decided are too good for the kitchen and has hung on the wall instead, the yoghurt topping the whole office keeps asking about, and the six mirrors doing six entirely different things with the same object.

The default photobook is basically your phone camera roll with a cover on it. Everything in order, one photo per page, the same size throughout. More of a record than anything else. A magazine does something else. Someone decided what went in, how big it was, and what it sat next to. Here's our guide for designing your holiday photobook to look like a magazine. A 4-step guide, and none of them need design software.
