Our weekly Nice Things Edit is a curated Monday round-up of what we’re loving right now. From our favourite pieces on Glassette to a recipe, a watch, a read, a place to visit, a restaurant, and a gift worth bookmarking.
Each week, every member of the Glassette team shares their current favourites, whether that’s new arrivals, pieces we’ve spotted trending, or timeless finds we can’t stop thinking about. Think of it as a weekly dose of joy, discovery, and design inspiration, handpicked by the Glassette team.

Our Monthly What’s On is a curated round-up of the exhibitions, restaurant openings, residencies and gigs we’re making plans for. From gallery shows and design fairs to new tables worth booking, cultural moments to catch, and the under-the-radar events you’ll wish you’d heard about sooner.
Think of it as your cultural compass for the month ahead: a considered edit of art, food, music and design, chosen to inspire weekends well spent.
November is the month London turns the lights on at four and goes indoors. The good news is that indoors is where everything is. Three major painting shows open within a fortnight of each other, a new museum opens in a market that’s been shut for thirty years, and the restaurant openings have moved somewhere they can be seen from a bank. Book the exhibitions now. The walk-ins can wait.

What’s On In November

Glass is the thing most of us buy in sixes and replace in ones. A tumbler from the supermarket, wine glasses left over from someone else's wedding list, a jam jar doing duty for water. The nine brands in this edit are the case for choosing it: a London label's glasses made from broken windows, sweets blown in Copenhagen, coupes from a Tuscan pottery family on its fifth generation, a carafe from Sydney with a star on the base, vintage Murano picked one piece at a time in France. Some of it is for drinking from and some of it is for looking at. Here's who to save.

9 Glassware Brands to Follow

Architectural Digest has named it cathedral core: stained glass, moved out of the church and into the home. Designers are fitting it into bathroom windows, hallways and front gates. The reasoning is part nostalgia, part reaction. In a year when everything seems generated, people want something made by hand, the same way it was made centuries ago. Most of us are not about to re-glaze the hallway. Luckily the trend scales down. Amber tumblers, green carafes, a pink vase that catches the light at four o’clock. Here is what we’re buying.

A desk is the only surface in the house that nobody furnishes on purpose. Everything on it arrived for a reason and none of the reasons were aesthetic: the pen came free, the mug is from a conference, the paper is held down by whatever was nearest. Which is a shame, because it's where a lot of us now spend the hours we used to spend elsewhere. The ten brands here make the things that end up within arm's reach for years: mouth-blown glass paperweights, hand-built trays for the stuff that has nowhere else to go, a diary invented in 1908 to fit inside a breast pocket. None of it will make you work faster. That isn't the job.

10 Deskware Brands to Know

The centrepiece has been demoted. In its place: the salad bouquet, a vase of lettuce or kale arranged stem-down. Little Gem, lola rosa, a wedge of radicchio for colour. Edible flowers are optional, though nobody who has come this far tends to leave them out.

A lot of what inspired me this week happened around Borough.
A Turkish-Cypriot meyhane on the top floor of a pub, papered wall to wall in someone else's family photographs. A cocktail bar five minutes downhill from it, building drinks out of the market below. A Parisian burger shop in Shoreditch with four things on the menu and a queue that doesn't seem to mind.
But the one I keep thinking about is the Barbican, where every August they put a screen up on the Sculpture Court and let a few hundred people watch films on a concrete terrace in the middle of the City.
So that's the week - two restaurants, a bar, a film season, a museum and three people whose work I've been sitting with. Here's the eight.

8 Things That Inspired Me This Week

In 1967, Anna Castelli Ferrieri designed a storage unit that didn't look like storage at all. Three stacking drums, a swivel base, doors that click shut with a satisfying half-turn. Kartell has barely touched the design since. Today it sits in bathrooms, nurseries and design museums with equal confidence. Below, we take a closer look at the story behind the Componibili, and the injection-moulding breakthrough that made it possible.

In 1956, Charles and Ray Eames unveiled a chair designed to feel like "a well-used first baseman's mitt". It took three years, seven prototypes and one abandoned plywood shell to get there. Since then, Herman Miller has produced it with remarkably few changes. Today, it's part of MoMA's permanent collection and has found its way into living rooms around the world. Below, we take a closer look at the story behind the iconic chair, and the thoughtful engineering that made it a design classic.

Welcome to If I Had A Million, our new series where we ask people anonymously what they'd actually do if they won a million pounds. Not what you should do with a windfall like that, what you'd really do. Each month, one person tells us exactly how they'd split it, spend it, and share it. No names, no judgement, just honesty.
First up: a 26-year-old trainee joiner from Bath, currently renting, who's already got it all mapped out, down to the industrial knitting machine.

If I had a million...

The English pub garden is a specific kind of pleasure - part institution, part accident. Nobody designed most of them; they simply accumulated, a few benches at a time, until they became the reason you went. The 10 here are the ones the Glassette team keep going back to: a three-storey treehouse in north London, a stone terrace above the Channel where the beer arrives through a hatch, a Dales garden lit by gaslight, a lawn with a Victorian viaduct for a backdrop. Some do serious food, some do pasties and nothing else. All of them reward staying longer than you meant to.

Gifting is one of those things everyone wants to do well and almost no one has time to think about properly. The Glassette Gift List is here to do the thinking for you - one considered edit a month, built around the moments that actually matter.
No endless scrolling. No panic buying. Just the right things, for the right people, at the right time.

Pinterest's 2026 wedding trends guide is here. In 2026, weddings are feeling less traditional and far more personal. Couples are moving away from polished perfection in favour of atmosphere, individuality and spaces that feel layered with character. Think candlelit pubs over formal venues, sculptural cakes, undone florals, analogue entertainment and tablescapes that borrow from intimate dinner parties rather than classic receptions. The modern wedding is becoming an exercise in world-building: expressive, cinematic and deeply reflective of personal taste, where every detail, from glassware to styling, feels curated rather than conventional.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 is finally here, and we're taking the OG characters and imagining the homes they'd live in. So, which one are you?

Devil Wears Prada Characters

Fruit is having a design moment, and at Salone, it's been impossible to ignore. From Laila Gohar’s surreal fruit carousel to Chloé’s tomato-shaped seating, it showed up oversized, playful, and unexpectedly refined. Less decoration, more statement: a shift towards interiors that feel abundant, expressive, and slightly theatrical.
This edit leans into that energy, pulling together pieces that echo fruit through colour, form, and texture. A little surreal, a little joyful, and very much of the moment.

Because if you’re going to finally sort your life out (subscriptions, savings, that one email you’ve been avoiding since October) you may as well do it properly. Think candles, good food, a table full of friends, and just enough peer pressure to actually press “cancel subscription”. Here's how to host one.
