Product Diaries

I’m Eleanor! East Midlands born, London shaped. I moved here at 21 to study fashion and, nearly a decade into my career, I’m still finding new ways to see myself. I’m the Buying and Brand Acquisition Manager at Glassette, where I look after all of our brands - sourcing new ones for the platform, curating the ranges we bring onto the site, and help identify future marketing opportunities for them. As I approach 30, I’ve become more aware of how differently people shape their lives through their surroundings and what they consume. Glassette is a constant source of inspiration for me in that sense - so much of my everyday ends up reflecting the brands and products and content we bring onto the site, and it continually shapes what I’m drawn to and want to explore further. From the latest snack I keep in my bag to how I reposition the lamps in my room, the artwork I choose to live with, and the skincare I rely on day to day - these small, considered choices quietly mirror the kinds of products and routines we champion, each one reflecting a different way of living.

I love the warmth - whether it's the occasional 30 degree weather in the UK, or when holidaying in a Spanish city, despite the fact I still don't own a fan. But, it hasn't come without its follow-up issues, though: my skin has been screaming for moisture and some of its glow back. So I've been lathering myself in it, several times a day - but I'm loving the feeling of staying moisturised throughout the day, that constant end-of-holiday glow and scent, on repeat. Neighbourhood Botanicals, Pelegrims, Reia, Archivist and Flamingo Estate are some of my favourites on Glassette right now (I may be biased, but the scents really are unmatched too). I've always preferred a more unisex smell to something overtly feminine - easier to wear all year round, and every one of these lends itself to exactly that.

I spend so much time on commons, in parks, in the garden - I have this constant pull to be surrounded by greenery wherever I can get it. Amidst the greenery, I daydream of how to build my own Flamingo Estate story: I'd love a garden self-sufficient enough to grow my own one day, and I take real inspiration from what they grow in theirs. Their peppermint, rose and tomato scents all sound dreamy, and I love having something garden-scented on site right now - their sage hand cream in particular will do very nicely for me in the meantime. As for the dream itself (and it is very much still a dream), Seedfolk's basil, sage and tomato seeds feel like a proper starting point - I'm just working out when and where's the right time to plant them, and then I'll be well on my way to my own Flamingo Estate. In theory, anyway…

Products being beautiful is one thing, but when they're actually functional too, give me more - for every room in the house, and to gift to everyone I mention them to. We've recently onboarded Christabel Hart & Co, whose side tables come with trays that sit on top - anything stripey and brightly coloured is always a win for me, so naturally I'm obsessed. Minnie's ceramic phone-charging shelf is genius. Exactly as she suggests, I'd put mine in the kitchen to hold my phone while I'm reading recipes, no more shuffling it around with food-covered fingers - it can just perch there, beautifully, instead.

Whether we sell vintage on the site. We do now! We've recently started adding vintage pieces, and it's brought a real influx of beautiful, totally unique items - varying hues of blue, rich mahogany, silver accents that still shine after all these years. They make wonderful gifts for weddings and milestone birthdays, or to gift yourself - no reason needed. Wildmore and Lazy Suzan Home have the most beautiful complementary ceramics and silverware, and Les Objoies is, right now, the best place to look for traditional French antiques sourced from Paris. I'm genuinely excited to see what other treasures they turn up next.

Natalia from Ambar swung by the studio recently to drop off samples, and I wasn't quite prepared for how beautiful her wine glass ring holders and napkin holders turned out to be. They're made with such care, and the mix of colours is perfect - the gems are stunning.
