Our weekly Nice Things Edit is a curated Monday round-up of what we’re loving right now. From our favourite pieces on Glassette to a recipe, a watch, a read, a place to visit, a restaurant, and a gift worth bookmarking.
Each week, every member of the Glassette team shares their current favourites, whether that’s new arrivals, pieces we’ve spotted trending, or timeless finds we can’t stop thinking about. Think of it as a weekly dose of joy, discovery, and design inspiration, handpicked by the Glassette team.

Nice Things This Week

Every season we ask someone whose taste we trust to talk us through what they're reading. This autumn it's Tanya Burr.
Tanya spent years in beauty and fashion before founding Chapter, the book club that has grown from a monthly recommendation into something closer to a literary community. Reading Rooms, author talks, events, and a lot of people arguing amiably about the same novel. She reads widely, chooses her monthly pick before she's read it herself, and is a firm believer that you need a few weeks' distance from a book to know what it actually did to you.
Below, she talks us through the pile by her bed, the room she reads in, and 10 books for the darker evenings.

Autumn Reading List

Finding a gift that feels thoughtful, doesn't break the bank and will actually be used is no easy feat. That's where the Glassette Gift List comes in. Each month, we'll be sharing one carefully considered edit, built around the moments that actually matter. No endless scrolling, no panic buying - just the right things, for the right people, at the right time.

There's something quietly radical about a refill. Not throwing away, not replacing - just continuing. Today is World Refill Day, and it feels like a good moment to consider the objects in your home worth holding onto.
AIRO's refillable candles were designed around exactly this idea: the vessel as the constant, the scent as the variable. Kinfill's dish soap arrives in a colourful pouch - less packaging, no compromise on performance. Attirecare's hand wash refills speak to the same logic: a beautiful dispenser you bought once, replenished as needed. None of it is complicated. Keep, refill, repeat.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 is finally here, and we're taking the OG characters and imagining the homes they'd live in. So, which one are you?

Retreats worth planning your year around - the ones that reset your rhythm and inspire how you live at home. From sun-soaked tomato feasts in Sicily with Casa Lawa to coastal creativity in Devon with Praktyka, and slow mornings in a Japanese onsen, these are the dates to bookmark now. Think movement, making, and meals worth travelling for, across Portugal, Japan and beyond. Consider this your gentle nudge to book it in.

Gifting For Homebodies

As the evenings grow darker and the clocks get ready to go back, it’s the perfect moment to lean into the warmth of ambient lighting. Soft, layered light can completely transform a space - casting a gentle glow that soothes and softens as daylight fades. Think the golden hue of table lamps, the calm flicker of candlelight, or sculptural pieces that bring both form and function. As we settle into slower evenings, let lighting set the mood - creating pockets of warmth, comfort, and quiet radiance throughout your home.

Saint Laurent hosted a dinner at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival to celebrate Father Mother Sister Brother.
The event took place inside Palazzo Grassi, where Tadao Ando’s modernist design intersects with the Baroque palace. In collaboration with Bureau Betak, Saint Laurent arranged a fuchsia-hued tablescape: jewel-toned flowers and fruit spread across round crimson tables, set with white china, glass goblets, and platinum candlesticks. Here’s how we’d recreate the tablescape!

The London-based Canadian vlogger, creative multi-hyphenate and founder of bodycare brand MIRROR WATER, lets us take a deep dive into her self care routines.

What Does Self Care Look Like in Summer?

We’re fascinated by the curious ritual of reading, and how the books that occupy our bedside tables, carefully curated shelves and overflowing tote bags have the power to shape our present, soothe our past and reaffirm our future choices. We checked in with Liv Little, multi-hyphenate in every sense of the word, and author of Rosewater (out 20th April 2023) to learn more about how reading fulfils and enhances her life, both as a book lover and soon to be published author. Liv spotlights the work of close friends and fellow writers, as well as sharing her favourite spots to browse and soak in the experience of purchasing a new book.

A beautifully fragranced space starts with understanding the basics around scenting your home, from knowing where to place and light a candle that fills a room, to the cleaning habits and rituals that ensure your space always feels fresh. Whether you’ve just moved into a new home that needs an injection of comfort and warmth, or want to create a scent experience that feels welcoming for both you and your loved ones, we set about uncovering the secrets to creating a great smelling home, featuring some of our favourite Glassette scents.

Secrets of a Great Smelling Home

We’re fascinated by the curious ritual of reading and how creating space to read can be an anchor in our days: something to look forward to; a way of resting; a way of learning about ourselves and the world. We take five minutes with author and journalist Elizabeth Day to explore the art of creating the perfect reading corner: somewhere cocooning and comfortable where you can feel connected to home while you allow yourself to disappear into another world for a few hours. Elizabeth shares the importance of keeping her favourite books physically close to her and why she continues to place reading at the centre of her life.

For digital entrepreneur Abisola Omole, home is designed with a feeling in mind. Her own space is a place of serenity; a place for anime marathons and listening to Day Wave, somewhere where the day flows easily.

We’re fascinated by the curious ritual of reading and how creating a space to read often can be an anchor in our days, weeks and months and how it can inspire the mundane with something magical. We take five minutes with author and journalist Yomi Adegoke to debate dog ears over bookmarks and discover how she prioritises reading as a way of learning and making sense of the world.
