Smith & Goat is an independent, family-run studio founded by Reggie and Amy, who specialise in colourful concrete homeware. Working from their studio using ambitious techniques of blending and casting, the small team produces pieces ranging from soap dishes and cylinder pots, to statement vases and candle holders, all that are as much conversation starters as they are functional objects.

Nice Things This Week

When you work for Glassette, inspiration has a habit of following you everywhere. For me, travelling is no easy switch-off. My editorial eye is wide open. A five-minute stroll can quickly become an hour when there’s a doorway worth photographing, a particularly good tiled floor or a beautifully set-up bistro table you aren’t even dining at. Every detail feels worth documenting, and every snap brings my iPhone one step closer to begging for more storage.
On the flight home, headphones on, I find myself scrolling through everything I’ve captured, wondering what made me stop in the first place. Why that particular window? What was it about that dish, that shopfront, that slightly faded sign?
After a recent weekend in Marseille, I realised this is how I remember a place: by taking its details and turning them into a visual moodboard. A colour combination I’d never thought to put together, a soap I suddenly need in my bathroom, a table setting worth recreating at home. A collection of little visual souvenirs that follow me home and find their way into everyday life.
So, here is my Marseille moodboard.

The best independent bookshops aren’t necessarily the ones with the most books. They’re the ones with a strong sense of what belongs on the shelves, whether that means rare editions, old photography books, small-run magazines or a love of one particular kind of literature. Mint has a habit of looking unfinished; silver is what finishes it. On its own, mint can feel undecided, hovering somewhere between pastel and green. Silver gives it something to play against.
