Dan Crow, CEO, on Forest Gate & Leytonstone
I've lived in E7 for coming up on eight years, pretty much bang on the border of Forest Gate and Leytonstone, which is my excuse for being greedy and doing both. When I moved here, before the Elizabeth line, there was nothing. Now we have some great pubs, a wine bar that does coffee and bakes in the morning, and Tuesday night jazz above a social club.
The community and the green space were always here, and the housing stock is lovely, for the most part. I can walk or run for hours on Wanstead Flats without seeing a road.
Everything below are places I actually go.

The most interesting rooms of the season weren't decorated, they were collected. New pieces sit along vintage forms, inherited proportions with furniture and textiles that are layer and loved. A collected room is never finished, and it isn't trying to be.

Our weekly Nice Things Edit is a curated Monday round-up of what we’re loving right now. From our favourite pieces on Glassette to a recipe, a watch, a read, a place to visit, a restaurant, and a gift worth bookmarking.
Each week, every member of the Glassette team shares their current favourites, whether that’s new arrivals, pieces we’ve spotted trending, or timeless finds we can’t stop thinking about. Think of it as a weekly dose of joy, discovery, and design inspiration, handpicked by the Glassette team.

Nice Things This Week

The second in our neighbourhood guide series - this time our Head of Creative Anna on Highbury.
I walk everywhere. That's the whole thing, really. I'll add twenty minutes to a journey to avoid going underground, and in Highbury I almost never have to - the park, the high street, the good pubs, the shops I actually use, all of it is on foot from my front door.
It helps that there's genuinely somewhere to walk to. I'd say the best restaurants and pubs in London are within a mile of here, which I know sounds like the kind of thing everyone says about their own postcode, but I'll stand behind it.
Everything below are places I'd actually go.

This month, Art Kiosk becomes something closer to a monthly long-form editorial. Original art and prints from artists we rate - we've worked out the frames, decided where each one earns its wall, and picked out what's trending in the art world right now.
There's a mini interview with one artist each month too. This time it's Molly Kayll, on painting to a 90s romcom and the one piece she'll never sell.
Original art, considered properly.

The listening bar has been having its moment - low lights, drinks, someone earnest behind the turntable. Now the ritual is moving home, and the hi-fi evening has become something you host rather than book. Think a turntable given pride of place, records shelved to be seen, seating arranged around the speakers rather than the television. It's hosting at its most generous: one album, played properly, start to finish. We've curated the room - the music, mercifully, remains yours. Below, everything but the B-sides.

Welcome to If I Had A Million, our new series where we ask people anonymously what they'd actually do if they won a million pounds. Not what you should do with a windfall like that, what you'd really do. Each month, one person tells us exactly how they'd split it, spend it, and share it. No names, no judgement, just honesty.
First up: a 26-year-old trainee joiner from Bath, currently renting, who's already got it all mapped out, down to the industrial knitting machine.

Rome has captivated travellers for centuries, but few know how to unlock the city quite like Emily FitzRoy. As founder of Bellini Travel, she's spent the past 26 years introducing clients to a side of Italy that most visitors never see - from extraordinary private access and under-the-radar experiences to the people and places that make a trip truly unforgettable. It's an expertise that has also seen her work with HBO as the Italian specialist behind The White Lotus and Succession. Here, Emily shares her insider's guide to the Eternal City, with her tips on where to go, when to visit and how to experience Rome beyond the crowds.

Rome Guide

Hello!
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the things that quietly inspire you without making a huge song and dance about it.
Not necessarily the big, life-changing moments. More the restaurant you leave already planning your return to before the bill’s even arrived. A book that makes disappearing from society feel oddly glamorous. A hotel suite so layered and atmospheric you briefly convince yourself you could move to Rome and spend your days sketching in cafés. Those sorts of things.
The things that shift your mood slightly. Make you want to host more. Cook differently. Book the trip. Rearrange a room. Romanticise your life a little bit harder.
I suppose that’s always what I’m drawn to in the end - places and people and ideas that make everyday life feel more considered, more beautiful, more alive.
So here’s a little collection of what’s inspired me lately. A bit interiors, a bit food, a bit escapism. Exactly as it should be.

What Inspired Me This Month

Gallery walls have moved on from rigid grids and perfectly matched frames. The most interesting ones mix artwork, objects and unexpected pieces to create something layered and expressive. We’ve pulled together five creative ideas for building a gallery wall that feels considered and full of character.

Start a Gallery Wall

What’s your art taste? Not the one you say in galleries. The real one.
Maybe you’re quietly accumulating meaning. Maybe you want to touch every surface. Maybe film, food, fashion and art all blur into one big reference board in your head.
Are you driven by nostalgia, or by the thrill of something that makes people pause?
Do you place pieces instinctively, or does every work have to earn its wall?
Some people collect art. Some people build a point of view.
Which one are you?
Take the quiz!

This week’s moodboard looks to Marty Supreme, a film that’s become a cultural artefact before most people have even taken their seats. In cinemas now, its rollout has set a new benchmark for how movies show up in culture.
For this week’s film moodboard, we’re borrowing from its world of sharp suits, sharp wit, and scenes that unfold over a perfectly poured drink. Think clean-lined martini glasses, silver platters, and tableware that leans polished and pared-back. Bring a slice of Marty Supreme’s after-hours energy home with our latest edit.

Frank Gehry design is defined by asymmetry, material honesty and a refusal to prioritise visual perfection over lived experience. This editorial explores why Gehry’s approach still matters today, how his principles translate into interiors, and how to borrow the mindset without literal imitation. A modern guide to designing spaces that feel human, expressive and quietly radical.
