Minnie-Mae Studio is based in Margate, creating and producing ceramics, printed textiles and interior decoration. British seaside landscapes, the history of London, Greek mythology and Italian kitsch decoration inspire and inform her imagery and exploration of design, resulting in a healthy obsession with columns and seashells. Her hand-crafted ceramics are objects of empowerment, designed to evoke nostalgia and strength, whilst focusing on classical design.

Who doesn’t love a Christmas market? A sausage in a roll, a mulled wine to keep your hands warm, and suddenly it feels like December. Nearly every town in Europe has one now, but some are worth travelling for. These are those: some very old, some very well placed, and all run by people who still care how it looks after dark. Nuremberg comes first, because it was here first.

The Best Christmas Markets in the World

For the one who’s always discovering new restaurants, sourcing the best ingredients, and spending weekends perfecting recipes, discover gifts that celebrate their love of food and hosting. Think serveware, refined glassware for shared meals, cookbooks from culinary greats, and beautifully made tools designed for both function and flair. Each piece is chosen for those who find joy in creating, tasting, and bringing people together around the table. Perfect for the passionate home cook, the generous host, and the devoted foodie who believes every meal is a moment to savour.

Gifting For Foodies

Some people wait until December to put up the Christmas decorations. Others have been planning the tree since August. Wherever you fall, a few new additions can make Christmas feel that bit more special. Striped stockings, baubles with a bit of personality and decorations that are too good to save for just one month of the year.

Christmas Moments: Decorations

For the one who loves a long bath, a proper cup of tea and a night in, these are gifts under £50 that still feel special. There’s a harlequin hot water bottle by CHICKPEA for the friend who’s still holding out on the heating, a porcelain shell soap dish by Minnie-Mae Studio for the bathroom shelf, and the Café Cecilia cookbook from Phaidon for the one who’d happily spend all weekend cooking.
Each one is picked with a particular person in mind, the kind who likes nice things and actually uses them. Gift something lovely this Christmas.

The kitchen is the room that gets used hardest and shopped for most carelessly. A peeler from the supermarket, a chopping board that came free with something, glasses that survived the last move. The 17 brands in this edit are the case for doing it on purpose: chopping boards cut in a Dartmouth workshop, enamel that has kept its blue rim since the 1920s, glass mouth-blown in Poland, hand-painted plates made in Portugal for a Belgian label. Some of it is built for the hob and some of it for the table. Here's who to save.

Weddings are feeling less traditional and far more personal. Couples are moving away from polished perfection in favour of atmosphere, individuality and details that feel layered with meaning. Think candlelight over floral installations, initials over themes and tables that borrow from intimate dinner parties rather than classic receptions. The modern wedding is becoming an exercise in world-building, where every detail, from the lapel to the place setting, feels curated.

Autumn/Winter Wedding Trend Report

Introducing Restaurant People, a new series about the people who open restaurants, and everything they decide before you ever sit down.
Every restaurant is a list of decisions. What colour the woodwork gets painted. Which table goes to the couple who booked six weeks ago. What plays when the first guests arrive, and what plays when the last ones won't leave. You feel all of it and notice almost none of it. Restaurant People is where we ask the people who made those calls to talk us through them - the building, the room, the menu, the wine list, the record that opens the night.
We're starting with Cassette, which opens to the public tomorrow at 42 Maiden Lane.
Mark Gurney and Matthew Bushnell have spent two decades in South London, Salon in Brixton, then Levan in Peckham since 2018, and have resisted going central for most of it. Cassette is the first time they've said yes: 56 covers inside, 20 on a terrace on a quiet pedestrianised street, in a building where Turner was born and Voltaire spent a year in exile, and which spent the 19th century as a furniture and stained glass workshop. It is French, deliberately and unfashionably so. Deep aubergine woodwork, art from Kempton Market, a 360-degree curtain, and a pair of Grundig Audiorama 8000 speakers playing disco. Essa Fakhry is in the kitchen, Madeleine Fawcett is front of house, and there is a serious commitment to calvados.
Mark talked us through all of it.

The centrepiece has been demoted. In its place: the salad bouquet, a vase of lettuce or kale arranged stem-down. Little Gem, lola rosa, a wedge of radicchio for colour. Edible flowers are optional, though nobody who has come this far tends to leave them out.

Our Co-Founder and Creative Director Laura Jackson drives two weeks up Ireland's west coast.
"Every summer we go somewhere less obvious. Last year Sweden and Gotland, this year Ireland. Three kids under six, a family van, a ferry from Holyhead into Rosslare, and two weeks working our way up the Wild Atlantic Way. We had planned to do it in a camper until we saw the price. What I hadn't expected was the food - local, seasonal, plain and very good - or how much better a pub is when there is live music and nobody is looking at your children. Tropical-looking beaches, cold Atlantic swims, lobster eaten on an empty stretch of sand. Ireland has my heart." Laura

Eleanor is Glassette's Buying and Brand Acquisition Manager - the person who sources new homeware and lifestyle brands for the platform, shapes the ranges, and spots what's worth paying attention to before most people have clocked it. Every month, she shares the products she can't stop thinking about, the trends quietly moving into interiors, and honest recommendations she'd genuinely spend her own money on.

Wedding lists have a habit of playing it safe. Twelve of everything, in white, to be used twice a year. This edit takes a different view: presents the couple will actually reach for. Glassware with some personality, a casserole dish that will outlive the marriage certificate's frame, a butter dish in a colour that starts conversations. Some are practical, some are purely sentimental, and some are great to bring out when you have guests over (we’re talking about the Magnum). Whichever you choose, it says you put real thought into it, and that's what makes a wedding gift meaningful.

The shell has spent decades being filed under "holiday souvenir" and not much else. That's over. Scalloped edges are turning up on lamps and mirror frames, mantelpieces are swapping their usual ceramics for conch and clam, and entire chandeliers are now being built from them - somewhere between a cabinet of curiosities and a beach house, minus the sand. It helps that the appeal was never really in question: no two shells the same, no improvement required. This isn't a coastal trend so much as good taste finally catching up with something the sea got right first.

2026 albums as interiors

Our Monthly What’s On is a curated round-up of the exhibitions, restaurant openings and residencies, and gigs we’re making plans for. From gallery shows and design fairs to new tables worth booking, cultural moments to catch, and the under-the-radar events you’ll wish you’d heard about sooner.
Think of it as your cultural compass for the month ahead: a considered edit of art, food, cinema and design, chosen to inspire weekends well spent.

What's On In June

There's a reason we spend so much time rearranging, repainting and quietly obsessing over the right shade of green for a single wall. Home is personal - more personal, probably, than most of us admit. This month, we've been thinking about that: about the objects that make a space feel inhabited rather than staged, and about the particular satisfaction of a room that couldn't belong to anyone else.
Our pride homeware edit is built around that idea. Pieces with colour and character, chosen for the people who know exactly what they want and aren't especially interested in playing it safe. Mustard Made, who are donating 10% of sales to LGBTQ+ rights organisation Outright International throughout June, sit at the heart of it, alongside a handful of other finds that feel considered, a bit daring, and genuinely built to last.
No novelty product here. Just good things, for homes with a point of view.
