Late Afternoon collects and curates homewares made by expert artisans and family businesses rooted in craft. Born between London and Madrid, the team felt stumped by unattainable luxury homeware and cheap throw-away homogeny and were inspired to be part of a new way, where quality and accessibility can co-exist. With a focus on character, craftsmanship and love, the team collects future treasures, current classics and heirlooms-to-be for your home, all made with natural materials like wool, linen, clay and cotton.

Hot Takes is a new monthly series on the things that make life better. Our creative director, Laura Jackson’s lends her lens on a tightly edited selection of what’s worth knowing about. First up: Bags Made for Living.

Laura Jackson’s Hot Takes: Carry Your Life

There is a certain kind of house where nothing is ever really put away. Things gather, plants creep in, flowers dry out, furniture gets moved around, and somehow it all becomes part of the place. That’s what the Owens house in Practical Magic feels like.
Inside, the aesthetic is one of beautiful chaos: mismatched china, copper pans, jars of herbs, pressed flowers and old books stacked everywhere. Nothing is too neat. The kitchen opens onto a glass conservatory, while the rooms are full of details that feel accumulated over time. The house doesn’t look haunted so much as inhabited. Even the more fantastical details feel completely at home there.

Film Moodboard: Practical Magic

Our September Art Kiosk drop is here. Read which frames we'd pair with prints, where we'd hang art, and what's trending in the art world. There's also a mini interview with Rosanna Corfe.

Art Kiosk September

Our weekly Nice Things Edit is a curated Monday round-up of what we’re loving right now. From our favourite pieces on Glassette to a recipe, a watch, a read, a place to visit, a restaurant, and a gift worth bookmarking.
Each week, every member of the Glassette team shares their current favourites, whether that’s new arrivals, pieces we’ve spotted trending, or timeless finds we can’t stop thinking about. Think of it as a weekly dose of joy, discovery, and design inspiration, handpicked by the Glassette team.

Nice Things This Week

Eleanor is Glassette's Buying and Brand Acquisition Manager - the person who sources new homeware and lifestyle brands for the platform, shapes the ranges, and spots what's worth paying attention to before most people have clocked it. Every month, she shares the products she can't stop thinking about, the trends quietly moving into interiors, and honest recommendations she'd genuinely spend her own money on.
This month: the back-to-school dread that ends, as ever, in a new notebook and a house full of primary colours, the frames built around a polaroid strip rather than in spite of it, the tea towels she's decided are too good for the kitchen and has hung on the wall instead, the yoghurt topping the whole office keeps asking about, and the six mirrors doing six entirely different things with the same object.

August Product Diaries

The second in our Where We'd Stay series, where we get the people behind exceptional places to stay to talk us through what they built and why.
This time we're on the Devon-Dorset border, at Glebe House: a late Georgian vicarage turned working farm, sleeping up to 18 across nine bedrooms and a handful of cabins, run by Hugo and Olive Guest as an English answer to the Italian agriturismo. Hugo's family home for decades, it was Emma and Chuck Guest's foodie B&B before Hugo and Olive took it on themselves - leaving their jobs in London with a three-month-old baby, an EU grant, and a plan to grow it from three bedrooms to nine. Six years on, there's a restaurant, a kitchen garden, an on-site bakery and salumi ageing room, a sauna and cold plunge, and a sitting room painted a deep terracotta they call fruit fool.
Olive worked with Studio Alexandra on the main house, then took over the interiors herself as the place expanded - painting furniture gradually over the years, and, more recently, teaching herself mosaic-making on a two-metre kitchen backsplash that had to be built upstairs, dismantled, carried down piece by piece, and rebuilt on the kitchen table (where the family ate around it for a fortnight) before it finally went into one of the cabins.
Each instalment covers one property, question by question - the design decisions, the nearby spots worth knowing about, and the one thing guests always comment on. This time: that you've walked into an old friend's house, and somehow you're still being hosted exceptionally well.

Where We'd Stay

A good lamp does more work than people give it credit for. It sets the mood of a room before anything else in it does, softens a corner that would otherwise go unused, gives a house somewhere to look warm at 6pm in January. The nine brands in this edit all understand that a light fitting is sculpture with a job to do. Some lean into colour and whimsy, others into restraint and material. Here's who to know.

9 Lighting Brands to Follow

Good renovation advice is almost always retrospective. You have to make the mistakes first. Room by Room is a new series from Glassette where we ask designers and homeowners to walk us through a single space: what wasn't working, what they spent too much on (and whether it was worth it), and what they'd tell you before you pick up a sledgehammer.
In the heart of London sits a slice of Iran in restaurant form. Persian decor adorns the interior of Berenjak Mayfair, which opened its doors earlier this year. It's described as "busy, buzzy and intimate" by Jake Raslan and Lorenzo Buscaroli, the minds behind the interiors – and we're inclined to agree.
With an expansive budget, the pair were able to bring to life stunning details, from a hand-painted ceiling by a specialist decorative artist, inspired by historic Persian miniatures, to bespoke marble mosaic floors in the toilets and elegantly draped curtains. The devil is truly in the detail when it comes to the Mayfair dining spot.
An endeavour that took more than a year to complete, a great deal of time, sweat, bespoke tiles and love were clearly poured into the space. On the food front, guests are treated to an immersive experience, with a kitchen that spills into the dining space, allowing them to watch stone-baked bread and smoked meats being prepared in real time.
We caught up with the brains behind the project to uncover the most expensive details, why handmade craftsmanship really is worth the investment, and whether they have any regrets.

Room by Room with Atelier Wren

Our Monthly What’s On is a curated round-up of the exhibitions, restaurant openings and residencies, and gigs we’re making plans for. From gallery shows and design fairs to new tables worth booking, cultural moments to catch, and the under-the-radar events you’ll wish you’d heard about sooner.
Think of it as your cultural compass for the month ahead: a considered edit of art, food, cinema and design, chosen to inspire weekends well spent.

What's On In July

The English pub garden is a specific kind of pleasure - part institution, part accident. Nobody designed most of them; they simply accumulated, a few benches at a time, until they became the reason you went. The 10 here are the ones the Glassette team keep going back to: a three-storey treehouse in north London, a stone terrace above the Channel where the beer arrives through a hatch, a Dales garden lit by gaslight, a lawn with a Victorian viaduct for a backdrop. Some do serious food, some do pasties and nothing else. All of them reward staying longer than you meant to.

Our Favourite Pub Gardens

A peek inside the Glassette team’s baskets right now. From hosting essentials and colour-drenched homeware to summer-ready table settings and pieces for new spaces, these are the products the team are loving, gifting and adding to cart at the moment. Think playful colour, thoughtful details and the little things making everyday routines feel brighter heading into summer.

Glassette Team Wishlist

Eurovision is the one night a year when maximum effort is not only acceptable but essentially mandatory, so your party should match the energy. Start with a ballot sheet for every guest, and a snack spread loosely themed around the competing countries. Dress code is sequins or go home. Have a signature cocktail, pick your favourites before the voting opens, and prepare to be completely wrong about who wins. Chaotic, communal, and completely unmissable - exactly as intended.

Hosting a Eurovision Party

In partnership with the Telegraph Media Group and Fever-Tree. Laura Jackson, co-founder and creative director of Glassette, says the right drinks can make bank holiday hosting a breeze. Hosting isn't about impressing anyone. It's about creating a space where people feel welcome, relaxed and genuinely happy. Do what brings you joy and try my eight tips for hosting a barbecue at home.

Host the perfect BBQ

For easy, elevated entertaining this season. Think colourful glassware, playful table linens, and effortless serveware that makes even a simple spread feel considered. From sunny garden lunches to last-minute drinks, these are the under-£50 pieces we’ve spotted for hosting in style.

Hosting Finds Under £50

Whether you take yours classic and pillowy, spiked with Earl Grey, loaded with bacon and egg, or sandwiched around a malted milk semifreddo, hot cross bun season has never looked quite like this. From a 15th-century bakery in Suffolk to a Parisian coffee shop in the 19th arrondissement, a Camberwell high street to the inner-north of Melbourne - this is our definitive guide to the most interesting buns worth tracking down this Easter.

Where to Get the Best Hot Cross Buns

Few materials shape a space quite like wood. Warm, grounding, and endlessly versatile, it brings texture and depth without ever shouting for attention. From pale, tactile grains that brighten a room to rich, dark finishes that add quiet drama, wood has an instinctive way of making interiors feel considered and lived-in.

Wood Edit

There’s a particular feeling you get when you step into a really good boutique hotel bedroom. Not flashy. Not over-designed. Just calm, cocooning, and slightly better than real life. The bed looks inviting rather than styled. The lighting is low and flattering. Nothing feels accidental but nothing feels try-hard either. The good news? Learning how to make your bedroom feel like a boutique hotel has far less to do with square footage or budgets, and far more to do with restraint, texture, and a few deliberate choices. Think less “Instagram makeover” and more “would I want to read a book here for three hours?”
